Welcome to the Pocahontas County WV. This is the beginning coordinate to the northern region of a 16-cache, 2 region challenge. From here, each subsequent cache will lead to the next. Once one region is complete cachers may claim half of a special two-part coin. Once both regions are completed & the word puzzle solved, the cacher may collect the second half of the coin. Boy Scouts may claim the special merit badge after completing at least one region. Let the Fun Begin !
Passport through History Geocache Challenge begins May 1 through October 31, 2013. The challenge will combine sixteen geocaches, two regions, monthly mystery prizes and a sixteen letter word puzzle. Cachers begin with two started coordinates, from the starter coordinate each subsequent cache will lead to the next. Once one region is complete cachers may claim half of a special two-part geocache coin. In each of the sixteen caches a clue to solving the sixteen word puzzle will be found. Once both regions are completed and the word puzzle solved, the cacher may collect the second half of the collectible coin. Boy Scouts completing the Passport through History may claim their special merit badge after completing at least one region.
All the caches are traditional- small caches will contain instructions to the next cache and log sheet; large caches will include SWAG, log book and instructions to the next cache. Historical facts about West Virginia will also be found inside each cache. At the end of the challenge a significant word in West Virginia will be revealed .
A Monthly Mystery Prize will be placed randomly the first Friday of each month through October. These fun prizes may include two free event passes to Snowshoe's Blues, Brews, & BBQ, two rounds at the Raven Golf Course, free event tickets for the Green Bank Science Center, Durbin Rocket train tickets and much more.

Difficulty level for these caches are generally rated for level 1 and 2. Most are easy accessible and a few require a short hike. All subsequent caches in this challenge will meet most of the artibuites identified on this cache.
