Nice View of a Fancy Dish - SCAR2013 Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

onecrazycanadian: Hi,

The low health score on this cache has remained below 60 since our last contact. I see no sign of any maintenance being done to correct this and I have had no response from the owner since my last contact. Due to the lack of response I have no idea if any corrective action has been taken. Consequently I am archiving the cache at this time. Under directions from HQ, if the cache was archived for maintenance issues, it will not be unarchived. If you wish to replace it you will have to do so with a new listing.

Thanks

Geocache Description:

This cache is placed for the SCAR 2013 Event. It Should not be found before Friday May 17th at 5:30P.M. Any logs posted before that will be eliminated.

This is a micro placed near a popular pathway.

Look west toward the Innovation Place Industrial Park and you will see a large satellite dish mounted on top of a rectangular structure. This dish and tower are owned by the Canadian Space Agency mostly for TT&C (Telemetry, Tracking and Command) of some remarkable Canadian satellites such as SciSat and RadarSat. The dish has a full range of motions so you will see it posed in different positions on any given day and time. If you are fortunate and watch for a while, you might see it slowly rotate as it tracks a satellite overhead.

There is a pathway near this cache which is quite busy at times and quite deserted at other times.  For more active people in the Innovation Place industrial park, the path is part of a "megaloop" that leads eastward from Preston Avenue, behind the Preston Crossing commons, and over a pedestrain/train bridge across Circle Drive.  The path then least south along a fence line to 108th Street.  The "megaloop" then leads west along 108th Street to Preston Avenue, then north along Preston Avenue to the beginning of the loop.  This turns out to be a walk or jog that can keep you active over a lunch hour.

There are caches placed here and there along this megaloop.  I intend to fill some of the gaps to help turn the "megaloop" into a geocaching mini-loop.

The cache is a micro so please bring a writing stick.  Please also use stealth as there may be muggles travelling along the path.

Congratulations for FTF to the Tack Team (tackpee and Li'l Tack)
Congratulations also to Sask_girl & Novy for STF!
