Major_Boothroyd: It was a lot of work getting this event to come together, but in the end it seems everyone enjoyed themselves so it was well worth it. Glad to get a chance to meet other cachers as well....I hope everyone will log there TB's... still have 33 Tb's listed in the inventory!!

Geocache Description:

There will be a few ways for a cacher to take home part of the Pirates Treasure... I have placed 49 new permanent caches in the Mt. Zion / Long Creek area.   Each will hold a number of raffle tickets... each ticket will have the cache number on it and you will be allowed to take one ticket per cache with a maximum of 15 tickets per cacher please. Write your name on the ticket and drop it in the raffle bin when you return at 12 noon. At GZ there will be a "treasure chest" that will be locked and hold an undetermined amount of money...There will be 20 keys but only one unlocks the lock.... We will pull names from the raffle bin and you will come up...pick a key and try the lock..if it opens the money is yours...if not we will pull another name and try again until there is a winner.

The Grand Prize winner will be the one whose key opens the lock to the chest... and inside will find "gold" coins.....Cold hard CASH!!   The amount will only be known when you open the chest...

A quick note about the raffle...for those who may not want to search the entire 3 hours... or for those who just want to better there chances at winning the grand prize... there will be bonus raffle tickets for sale at the GZ picnic shelter... 7 tickets for $5...with the money going towards the prizes.
The second way to take home a prize... The cacher who has the most caches found will win a prize & take home a trophy. Upon returning to GZ...You must sign in the return to GZ log...in the event of a tie...the cacher whos checked in first will win the prize.

And the third and final way to take home a prize... Among the 49 caches placed... there are 6 series caches... as you find all 7 caches in a perticular series... they will reveal the coordinates to the final cache for that series...Each final will hold a special "treasure Chest" for the FTF of that series...bring the chest to GZ by 12 noon and there will be a reward waiting for you.

The event schedule will be as follows:

8 a.m. - 9 a.m. download cache coordinates

9 a.m. - 12 noon cache and collect

afterwards.... we will meet at the pavillion to award prizes.

For those who may be interested... CIGA is hosting a Hog Roast Picnic (GC4AQTT) nearby for any cachers who may have worked up an appettite caching in the morning... and everyone is welcome to attend that event as well. Major_Boothroyd (that's me) has agreed to start cooking the pig at 5 a.m. at the park so it would be ready by noon. Please log a will attend and let's all enjoy the day and have fun.

A special thanks to CIGA for supporting this event with prizes.
