Lamb meat vs Rabbit meat
As springtime had come and Easter is just around the corner, enjoying the beautiful and warm morning, I was strolling across the city to solve some remaining mysteries.
I wanted to start finding a cute box hidden somewhere in the city or perhaps some information on a certain friend of a manager of a long-time-ago closed Bank (in order to investigate a murder), yet, while walking and reading an article in the newspaper, I remembered that I still have to make some shopping for Easter lunch.
The information in the newspaper was: More and more Romanian people start to buy rabbits for Easter lunch, despite the traditional lambs.
And I thought: “Why not? Why should I risk getting dog meat instead of lamb meat?”
Why not trying something new for this year? Why not rabbit meat?
I started browsing the internet on my mobile phone and I found out the following:
- Rabbit meat is very low on fat
- Rabbit meat is very rich on iron
- Rabbit meat is easily digested
- Etc etc
Only benefits… and further more, we’re living in Romania and there are so many dogs on Bucharest streets these days that will certainly make some gypsy-commerciants to think to replace the lambs. I personally know a guy who doesn’t like certain 'red dogs' :)
Now, which way should I go? Towards which Market: Lambs or Rabbits? What do you think?
Or better one of these alternatives:
- find a peasant’s oxcart, get the oxen (or better, catch Ferdinand) and prepare some veal stew :)
- be like Elmer Fudd, get a gun, hunt some wabbits :)
- catch and cook Bruce, Anchor or Chum (I love their kind of meat :))
- find Mary and grab the little lamb :)
- helping Henery in catching Foghorn, then steal him :)
- catching Bambi along with his bunny friends :)
- stuffing Duffy Duck and place it on a plate of boiled cabbage :)
- tricking Porky Pig to step into an overheating oven with an apple in his mouth:)
Damn, I’m thinking a lot and got distracted. Evil thoughts, go away! There might be children reading this!:)
It was easily decided as I knew only one of these places. So, I called my girlfriend, tell her: “Woman, hurry up! Dress up, pull up your stockings, take your coat and be ready! In 5 minutes we’re going shopping!”.
After almost 2 hours, we got our meat :)

A final advice at final location: as invisibility is not possible, it is recommended to have someone with you and work as a team in order to try to distract the 'all-seeing eyes'.
