Bennett Hall is a residential hall at Oklahoma State University. It is located on the corner of Duck and Hall of Fame across from the Boone Pickens Stadium. Henry G. Bennett, president of OSU from 1928-1950, designed the Hall. Originally Bennett did not have air conditioning, but was later changed to accommodate for Oklahoma’s extreme weather. Recently, the center and west sections of Bennett have been renovated.
Bennett Hall is suite-style living and have a wide variety of room sizes and layouts. Many units feature living areas and bathrooms. Full service kitchens and laundry rooms can be found on every floor. Bennett is open to all classifications of students and houses around 650 students. Every room features cable TV hookups and computer connections.
Slam Dunk and Fast Break convenience store offer conveniently located food options for Bennett residents as they are located in the first floor lobby of the building. Bennett Hall also has a giant computer lab in the basement with free black and white printing. There is also a 24-hour desk that operates from the first floor lobby. Bennett Residents also have full access to a basketball court and a sand volleyball court.
Bennett is also the home to Bennett Jam. This is a benefit concert that the hall’s government has been putting on since 1983. Another interesting feature about Bennett is the Bennett cats. Bennett cats have been around for quite some time and live in the bushes outside of the hall. No one is quite sure why they are there or how they got there. Some people love them and others find them dirty and creepy.
