Geocache Description:

You've heard the expression that something is "just a popularity contest." It's a phrase used today, often disparagingly, to imply that the popularity in question is unfounded, shallow, or meaningless. The phrase has its origins in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. American newspapers held dubious “popularity contests” as a way of selling excessive newspaper subscriptions. Each subscription sold was eligible to a vote in the popularity contest, and the winner won an impressive prize.

But while popularity can be questionable, sometimes things are popular for a good reason. Let's hope this cache will explore some of the better sides of popularity.

The cache, a small pill bottle, is at the listed coordinates. In order to qualify for finding this challenge cache, you must have previously found at least 25 caches that each have 50 or more favorite points. Use the checker below to see if you qualify.

If you have a favourite “popular” cache, please feel free to mention it in your log.
