The cache is a very small clear tube with log only, hidden, but should be an easy find... but becoming much more difficult in winter months. I rated this a 2 difficulty because it is hidden well. And a 1.5 terrain beacuse it is not on the gravel area. This could become a much higher difficulty/terrain rating in the winter due to snow, or could possibly even become inaccessible in which case I will disable it. I go by the area very regularly so can keep an eye on it. It's in a well known, and marked pullout area, near Essex Mt.
The Izaac Walton Inn is right up the highway and up a side road a very short distance. It was built by the Great Northern Railway in 1939, to house workers.
The river is not far, with a great access less than a mile up the road. Glacier Park is just down the highway after you cross the river. A couple more miles East on the highway, is the fantastic "Goat Lick" ( summer months only ) where you will stand a very good chance of seeing a mountain goat. In the spring the mountain goat kids are out sunning themselves and are a great treat to see. Enjoy the cache and the area.
