Ashcroft lies on a flat bench next to the Thompson River in a unique desert setting. Rolling hills that rise steeply in the east and extend to the west to form the Highland Valley Plateau surround the community that is centrally located in the South Central Interior of the Province of British Columbia.
This is a night time cache, hence the name above. The coordinates above will take you to the start of the trail (trail head). Make sure you bring a really good flash light. This will take you into the darkness of the mesa. You'll hear or possibly see the creatures of the night looking for something to eat.....don't worry it won't be you
You might get a bite from a local cacti though (prickly pear) so watch out.
As you begin your hike you'll walk up a hill through sand and loose shale rock in spots, you'll also pass by and through various size of sage brush. Enjoy your stroll in the desert on a nice clear summer night, it's the best time.
Another note: make sure you have proper hiking boots and possibly a hiking stick. The cache is camo and is small, but can have a few goodies inside. bring your own writing stick too!
