The village of Stoneyford is situated between Glenavy and Milltown, approximately 8km north of Lisburn and directly north of Stoneyford Reservoir.
The construction of the Stoneyford Reservoir greatly changed the character of lands to the south of the settlement, and the reservoir is now an important feature of the village. The reservoir is a popular fishing area, and is stocked at various times throughout the angling season. Fish caught are both Rainbow and Brown trout.
The reservoir is signposted from the village, and you can park at a grassy lay-by at N 54 33.860 W 006 06.872. This area can be boggy, so take care when parking. The entrance to the reservoir is just across the road.
The cache is a small bison tube containing just a log, so PLEASE BRING YOUR OWN WRITING IMPLEMENT, AND ALSO SOMETHING TO HELP YOU EXTRACT THE LOG.
Please ensure the cache is hidden from sight when replaced.
