Drive-by cache located on the edge of Quarry Wood, close to the village of Burton-in-Kendal.
This cache is named after our daughter, she chose what she wanted to put in it & where she wanted to hide it! It is a small sized container & is located close to the village of Burton-in-Kendal. The cache is near a disused Lime Kiln on the edge of Quarry Wood. It can be done as a drive-by as there is a small parking area at the location next to the Kiln. Approximately half a mile up the road you can find the Plain Quarry Stone Spiral, this is a beautiful area, with parking & picnic tables, where limestone blocks have been carefully placed in a spiral to celebrate this unique place where geology, nature & culture are deeply intertwined. There is also a nature trail with panoramic views of the Bowland Fells & access to Dalton Crags & Hutton Roof. At the location the cache is hidden on the opposite side of the track to the kiln. You will see some large trees next to the wall. Sophie would like lots of people to visit her cache & sign her logbook so 'happy hunting'!
