Oct 2019 Update: Sign at the first waypoint is missing - it was pointing to the thing you just walked over to get to the sign, and it was a single word, starting with a B. Hopefully you can figure it out
JAN Update: This cache is to mark my fourth third anniversary of caching (Dec 2nd) - I didn't realize how appropriate my first cache, a virtual, " I am the God of Leaky Caches and Soggy Log Books" was until I started finding traditional caches The final is located off the trail to the Western Plateau
You'll need to find a couple of signs in the Conejo Canyons Open Space, with the first one being at the initial coordinates. The word on this sign is WD1. Then go to the crossroads (at the Stage 1 coordinates) where you'll see a rectangular trail sign with two lines of text. Those words are represented by the following references:
top line WD2 WD3 WD4 WD5
bottom line WD6 WD7 WD8
The final is at N 34° 13.abc W 118° 55.def
Calculate the final coordinates as follows {Note: #WDx refers to the number of letters in the word WDx}
a = 1/2 of #WD6
b = #WD5
c = #WD7 - #WD8
d = #WD3 + #WD4/2
e = #WD1 + #WD2
f = #WD8
combined checksum of the abc and def is 28
Cache container is a micro, log only, with no room for swag or trackables. No pen, so bring your own. WheresGeorge dollar for FTF. When you find the log, note the code letter and number written on the log - it might come in handy for another cache that I'll eventual hide in this general area
*****Congratulations to RocketBrewer for FTF *****
Happy Caching! A cache a day keeps the doctor away
Feedback is always appreciated on the difficulty/terrain ratings, cache descriptions, etc - thanks.
Thanks to cindy&randy for pointing out that this was my 4th anniversary, not my 3rd. Time flies when you're having fun
