Geocache Description:

This cache is placed at a local walking trail that is about 1 mile in distance. I have wanted to put a multi-cache here for awhile and was not sure where to place the final cache but after getting the permission from the Carlisle Barricks Golf Course to place it... I was off and running to start this tour around the facility. The final cache is NOT on the Army Post so please stay straight when driving up the driveway towards the parking coords. BYOP

This is a mile long walk around a local trail that is open to the public daily. The cache has been placed with permission of the Carlisle Barricks Golf Course. This trail is approriate for those in wheelchairs, however there are 1-2 places that you will have to get information off of signs that are not wheelchair accessible.

The coordinates are determined by answering the questions at the end of the description, so please read them ahead of time or print out a copy to take with you. Once you have the answers to the questions, plug in the answers to the puzzle coordinates at the bottom of this page and away you go to grab yourself a smiley.  The final cache should not be difficult to find but will require some stealth at times depending on how frequent the golfers are on the green.

The listed coordinates place you in front of an Anti-tank gun. While you are at these coordinates, please refer to question A and place your answer at the ending cache puzzle coordinates.

The answer for question B can be found at N40º 12.294 W77º 9.585. You are now standing in front of a Sherman tank. Once you have the answer to question B, continue on to the next coordinates.

The answer to question C can be found at N40º 12.259 W77º 9.570. You are now standing in front of a Model 1857 light 12 pound gun. Answer question C and continue down the path to the next posted coordinates. Along the way, please take notice to the opening in the trees to your right and the continuance of the walking trail that surrounds the Carlisle Barricks Golf Course. You may come back to this point to walk to the ending cache coordinates if you are in the mood for a long walk.

The answer to question D can be found at N40º 12.122 W77º 9.515. You are now standing in front of the Blue Devil Division memorial stone. Take some time while you are at these posted coordinates to enjoy the beautiful scenery and the near by gazebo. Please answer question D and continue on to the next coordinates.

The answer to question E can be found at N40º 12.168 W77º 9.488. You should now be standing by a helicopter. Please answer question E and record before continuing on to the next posted coordinates.

The answer to question F can be found at N40º 12.255 W77º 9.468. You are now standing in the middle of the Redoubt. This is one of my favorite exhibits on the trail. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do. Once you have the answer recorded to question F, you can continue to the next posted coordinates.

Please continue to N40º 12.269 W77º 9.517 for the answer to question G. You should now be standing in front of the Block House. Continue to the next coordinates after you have the answer to question G.

Please continue back on the trail to your left to the next coordinates N40º 12.291 W77º 9.520 for question H. You should now be standing in an enclosed wooded area by a sign about Lieutenant Colonel Darby. Once you have the answer to this question, continue back the trail that you came from to get to the next posted coordinates.

The answer to question I can be found at N40º 12.298 W77º 9.456. You should now be standing in front of a sign by another helicopter. After locating this answer and recording, continue on the the next coordinates.

Please continue to N40º 12.314 W77º 9.453 for the answer to question J. You should be standing in front of a guard tower and its sign. After answering, continue to the next coordinates.

The answer to question K can be found at N40º 12.368 W77º 9.440. You are now standing in front of a sign with historical information on Corporal Cox. After learning about him, continue to the next coordinates. On the way to these next coordinates, please feel free to go underground to a tunnel leading to where gunmen were posted underground. Please watch your step since there are areas of very dim lighting.

For these coordinates, you will have to go into the trenches. Do not attempt to find from above. Please continue to N40º 12.390 W77º 9.483. This is another one of my favorite exhibits on this trail. Please enjoy the multiple paths along the trenches on your way to get the answer to question L.

For the answer to the last question...question M please continue to the final coordinates of N40º 12.375 W77º 9.508. You are now in front of a large tank. Once you have read the sign to answer the last question, please make sure you have recorded all of the numbers corresponding to the lettered questions and plug them into the puzzle cache at the bottom of this entry. I hope you enjoyed this multi-cache journey and have learned more about our great military history. There are several reenactment events throughout the year here that are also worth checking out.
