This cache is part of "PuckHound's 2013 Hockey Pool" traditional cache series, each representing a team that qualified for the 2013 NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs.
Following a lockout shortened 2012-13 NHL regular season, the Los Angeles Kings opened the playoffs with a 4-2 series win over the Blues after losing the first two games in St. Louis. And then in a series where the home team won every game, the Kings outlasted the Sharks in game seven to advance to the Conference Final. In doing so, the secret code inside this cache became one of the five puzzles pieces required to solve and find my Find Lord Stanley puzzle cache (these codes are no longer required).
Anyhoo, back to the Kings, where their inability to win on the road continued into the Chicago series and they lost to the Blackhawks in five games.
