Take a hike along this section of the Catamount X-C Ski Trail, formerly the Hoosac Tunnel and Wilmington Railroad bed. This section of the trail starts at the Harriman Dam, down the old train switchback, then flat all the way to Route 100. The Deerfield River parallels the trail for the entire length. It's about 2.7 miles one way, but if a round trip is too much go with a friend and park at both ends of the trail.
This can be the end, start or turn-around point of the X-C Ski Trail.
