~Please bring a tool to remove the log from the container and a writing stick. This was the only container I had on me once I figured out I could not put a magnetic one on the plaque because it is too close to Power in the Park cache. ~ "— Serving as a reminder of how far the local fire service has come, a half-century old air raid siren has been commemorated in Veterans’ Memorial Park after a collaborative effort by the Sierra Vista Historical Society and the Sierra Vista Firefighters Association Erected in the southeast corner of the park, the siren and one other like it, were one of the earliest means of communication for the town of Fry’s all-volunteer fire department in the mid-20th century, said Dave Santor of the historical society.
