Geocache Description:

A scenic drive on roads suitable for passenger cars. The cache site offers spectacular 360 degree views. The cache is a normal sized ammo box. This is a historical cache placed in honor of a forgotten woman bandit named Pearl Hart. The old stagecoach route once ran from Globe to Florence near the cache site. Pearl Hart and her pal Joe Boot robbed the stage near Cane Springs, just NE of the cache site. Pearl was the only woman to ever rob a stagecoach, and it was also the last stagecoach robbery in America. The year was 1899. If you want to read more about Pearl Hart, check out the book "I, Pearl Hart" by Jane Candia Coleman. We wrote the following poem to commemorate the occasion:
A story is told, not fiction but fact,
'bout a woman most bold, and her devious act.
She teamed up with a dude, his name was Joe Boot,
their plot was most crude, "Lets steal the loot".
So she cut off her hair, and dressed like a guy,
the coach got a scare, when she waved her gun high.
So they held up the stage, the money they took,
the rest is a page, in a history book.
Their escape plan went bad, and the sheriff, he came,
and Pearl was most sad, twas the end of her game.
Off to prison Pearl went, to pay for her crime,
to Florence she was sent, but got out in no time.
The legend lives on, in the hills of this place,
Pearl Hart is long gone, of her, there's no trace.
So we placed our cache here, "in memory" of Pearl,
to us it seems clear, she was no ordinary girl.
