This is a lovely stretch of the towpath and is full of wildlife for much of the year. There are several caches on this and adjacent sections of the canal and in the surrounding area, so why not make a day of it?
The tow path here is grassed so it can be a bit muddy after sustained rain but it makes for a lovely walk and there is plenty of wildlife and the scenery is picturesque.I'm afraid the towpath isn't really wheelchair accessible at this point. All terrain buggies should be ok in summer but probably not after sustained rain.
I have tried to add a bit of variety to the caches but inevitably some will be plain old boxes - but hopefully the lovely views and nice walk will make up for those. This particular cache is a 2ml screwtop container - it has a "tether" to keep it in the right place - if you need to remove it then please do so carefully and replace as found. As is so often the case you may find tweezers useful in retrieving the lop.
The cache is not situated immediately beside, in or over the water. You should only get wet if it is raining or muddy!
Please be aware that although the canal is generally a safe environment, the usual caveats apply in relation to the danger for unsupervised children and deep water. Enjoy yourself but STAY SAFE
