This handcrafted disco cache was a birthday gift from good friends and has been placed in the Rising Sun Country park as it is a favourite place of ours.
The Rising Sun Country park is 400 acres of greenery located between Hadrian Park, Wallsend and Holystone. Once a colliery, it now boasts a nature reserve around pond and lake areas and is often used by groups for den building, pond dipping, orienteering and the like. There is lots of wildlife to be found in the park including the famous Rising Sun stag which is often seen in nearby fields.
There are many pathways running through the park all accessible for walkers, cyclists and horse riders. Most of the paths are wheelchair and buggy accessible, however the cache requires a deviation from the main pathway onto a track.
The visitor centre has toilets and a coffe shop selling meals, snacks and yummy homemade cakes and bakes. There is parking at the visitor centre until dusk, if you require parking after that, a Supermarket car park is just down the lane.
Well done mike.armstrong for FTF!
