人見街道は新牟礼橋で玉川上水を越えていますが、新牟礼橋のすぐ脇に煉瓦造りの古いアーチ橋があります。
GZから上流側に行ってみましょう。

これが「どんどん橋(旧牟礼橋）」です。江戸時代に架けられ、現在の橋は1849年につくられたそうです。

また橋そばには、玉川上水流域の石碑では最も古い石橋造立供養塔があります。
