This is a linear series of five caches, running approximately along the boundary between the church parishes of Ingrave St Stephen’s and Ingrave St Nicholas.
You have the choice of doing these as cache ‘n dashes as most are not far off the road or as a longer walk. If you haven’t already done the Ingrave caches (GC1B369 and GC1B36B) you could include these and make a circular walk.
For the main 5 caches here, you could probably just about do it with a stroller / buggy if you stick mainly to the tarmac footpath. The off-road route however is quieter and is particularly pleasant in the summer.
We have tried to add snippets of local information some of which you may find interesting. Please feel free to educate us further if you know anything more.
All caches placed with kind permission of Brentwood Borough Council
3) Hare Hall Shaw (1):
Hare Hall Shaw is a small area of woodland retained as a screen for the Brocksparkwood and Thriftwood housing developments which were built in the 1970s and 80s. It contains mainly Oak and Hornbeam trees and has bluebells in Spring. (Please mind where you walk if you are lucky enough to see them)
The woodland is maintained by Brentwood Borough Council. A pond exists to the south end of these woods, and is on a council list to be improved!
You are looking for a small container which contains a few swappable items and room for small TB’s. Co-ords were all over the place so hint may be needed.
PLEASE NOTE: THE CACHE IS NOT IN THE NEARBY BIRDBOX, PLEASE DO NOT DISTURB IT.
Initial Contents: Logbook, Pencil, Stashcard, FTF Badge, Rubber, Lizard, Highlighters, Bouncy Ball
