Edgewater Theater District: Nevermore Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

miscreants: Moving out of the area, and no one stepped up to adopt the cache, so I'm just going to close it down. Perhaps someone will want to put something nearby again someday.

Geocache Description:

This is the first in a series of caches highlighting the theatre arts community in Chicago's 48th Ward.   Placed in honor of a geocaching-themed play performed at the space in May 2013.

This theatre was founded in 1983 by a husband and wife team (he's a director, she's an actress).  Two stages are housed within.  The mainstage seats 150 and focuses on classic American comedies and dramas.  The 60-seat studio theatre welcomes itinerant performing groups presenting a wide array of works.

This venue wasn't always a theatre.  It used to be the neighborhood grocery store!

Prior to 2002, when they came to roost here, the resident performing troupe used to be HQ'd in a smaller theatre space (70 seats) in Rogers Park.  Now they are the western-most theatre in the 48th ward.
