A great Osprey viewing spot in Crescent Valley.
It's really a great spot. Park at the beach. Follow the trail along the edge of the riverbank, around the corner, and past the forest. The nest is on a power pole across the river. The river is where the Ospreys hunt and guard their territory. It's also where they can put on a great show for you. Bring binoculars with you if you can.
This year, just before the cache was placed, a pair of Canada Geese decided to take up residence on an island in the river right beside the Osprey nest. Also, the other area Osprey nest, at the east end of the Crescent Valley bridge, also has tenants. The best viewing spot for that nest is probably from the higher ground beside the old elementary school which is now used as a community hall.
The Ospreys, the geese, and in the summer there'll be other wildlife to see -- tubers coming down the river...
