Meet with your fellow cachers and learn all about our hidden treasures from seasoned geocachers on Thursday, May 16, beginning at 6:47 p.m., at the BP Energy Center, 900 E. Benson Blvd. (Click for map.)
Tonight's bestower is Wes Skinner, aka NorthWes, who will deliver an amazing oration, with pictures, about hunting that elusive, almost mythical beast, the creative cache hide. This topic is perfect for every cacher, regardless of the number of finds that you claim or the date you first pledged your sanity to the game. Bring a friend, even a muggle, as the more the merrier.
This event will be carried live over the internet via WebEx. Contact us immediately if you can host a remote site session elsewhere in Alaska. GeocacheAlaska! Sourdough Members who cannot attend an event site can link in remotely. Contact us for instructions on how to do so.
Please post a "Will Attend" log on this event page to stay appraised of any changes or updates to this presentation. If we need to make any announcements about this event, all registered attendees will automatically receive an email copy of those announcements via the email you have registered with your Geocaching.com account. Adding a "Will Attend" log to this page will also assure enough hard copy handouts are printed for the event participants.
Please arrive on time so upfront administrative details can be handled and announcements made, allowing the course content to start precisely at 6:59 p.m. Also, please bring your favorite nonalcoholic beverage and a dessert to share with your fellow cachers.
There will be a free-will offering cache container at the event to help defray the costs of hosting these FUNdamentals events if you would like to make a donation. The GCAK Store will be available onsite immediately after the presentation. You may purchase items from our line of GxProxy gear as well as official GroundSpeak merchandise, or you can pick up some of the brand new 2013 pathtags that are now availabe!
If you have requests for EduVent topics, have a topic that you would like to present to the Alaskan geocaching community, or would like to host future presentations like this one elsewhere in Alaska, please contact Education Committee Chair SSO JOAT.
