Geocache Description:

This geocaching experiance should show you how fun grand lake is, and all the safety precautions you must take.

Your journey should begin by renting a boat and taking it to where i have hidden the geocache. Renting a boat is key because the only way to reach the cache is to boat over to the location. It also provides the true Grand Lake experiance, enjoy the fresh air and the wonderful smell of the lake. You can just drive straight to the location, but that would defeat the purpose of a great day on the lake! You should also pay attention to others while driving back into dripping springs, learn the importance of being aware of those around you. You will also learn about No Wake Zones, dripping springs is entirely a no wake zone, pay attention to how the boats are entering and exiting the cove.
Once you have driven back into dripping springs, to your left you will see cliffs, both kids and adults jump off these cliffs into the water, they range anywhere from five feet, to fourty feet. This has become somewhat of an attraction for anyone who comes to grand lake, often times several hundred boats will raft up, mainly around fourth of july, and they will watch people jump off the cliffs, mainly the high cliff. You will learn just how friendly grand lakers are, and many people will assist you in rafting up. Once you have rafted up, make your way over to the marina just to the right of the cliffs and ask how to get to the highest cliff. If you are interested, there should be several lake charts that show other various hot spots within grand lake. Hopefully you will realize that the lake is not just a location, but a community.
Finally, you must venture up the cliffs, ask other jumpers to assist you in reaching the highest cliff, the path is somewhat difficult to traverse. You will learn about all the safety precautions you should take to make it to the top. The goal here is to learn how important it is to have watershoes or chacos so that you do not cut your feet on the way up the cliff. You should also learn the importance of having a life jacket on you at all times during your time at the lake, you will need this for jumping off the highest cliff. Once you reach the top, you can see a local tradition of hanging beer cans on the tree located at the top of the cliff, although it is technically considered littering, the local police dont enforce it at this specific location because it is a tradition. Once you are done at the top of the cliff, you must conqure your fear of heights by jumping off the highest cliff, it is much more dangerous to climb back down the cliff than it is to jump. I hope that your time at the lake has shown how much joy and fun the lake can bring. Enjoy your experiance!
