Geocache Description:

Situata a 550 m  sopra Colico e raggiungibile con una  passeggiata di pochi minuti.
Located at 550 m above Colico and reached by a short walk.

La Torre di Fontanedo  è situata sullo sperone che scende dal versante Nord del Monte Legnone . Fu costruita con il compito di proteggere il territorio da incursioni e salvaguardare l’antica  via di comunicazione della Scalottola che collegava Lecco alla Valtellina ( e che coincide in parte con l’attuale Sentiero del Viandante).
The Tower of Fontanedo is located on the spur that descends from the northern slope of Mount Legnone.
It was built with the task of protecting the territory from incursions and preserve the "Scalottola" ancient road that connected   Lecco to the Valtellina (and which partly coincides with the current "sentiero del Viandante"
