A quiet and pleasant spot by the water to have a rest, away from the buzzing town, which is always welcome!
The cache is on the Mill Trail which celebrates the industrial heritage of the rivers of Newport and Carisbrooke. There were once 14 mills located along the river Medina and Lukely Brook and several breweries, a tannery, dyers and crockers. These industries required large amounts of water for their work. Many of these buildings are still standing and can be seen along the route. The Trail can be enjoyed either as an eight mile town and country walk or a four mile circular town route.
The cache is on the quieter side of town, but some stealth might be required to avoid being spotted by cyclists and walkers at some specific times of the day. There is a bench very nearby on which to sign the small log. Initials only please!
And please bring your own pen and extractor!
