The Organ Trail!
The Organ Trail is a series of caches with special dedication to combining my fondness of geocaching and medicine. As a surgical resident I spend much time living at the hospital but when not there geocaching has become a favorite! Its always been a good way to get out of the house and have some healthy fun. To take healthy to the next level I wanted to make a series of caches which drew attention to different aspects of medicine and healthcare, hence The Organ Trail was born!
Surgery is Me!
This is the first in the series of The Organ Trail! I thought it should start where I spend all my hours as a surgical resident. Did you know that Maine Medical Center is the only Level 1 Trauma Center in Maine? Take a moment to celebrate all the great people who work to help your loved ones. This cache will take you to the oldest section of Maine Medical Center, the building known as the Maine General Hospital. You can see the old sign still there. FTF prize and the maiden location for The Organ Trail's travelbug.
You are looking for a well hidden cache that will require stealthy maneuvers. Probably not good to go during peak hours (that would be 7a-5p M-F usually for this particular area) but it is a bit off from where most of the foot traffic is. You will still need some stealth, but weekends and nights are still good!
