Multiple access points available. Waypoint provides parking for the scenic route and a twenty minute hike, but there are quicker ways. Follow the trails. Cache is not far off. No bushwacking required if you take the right approach. Lid needs a little tugging. Watch for ticks! Hide well when you're done. Moderate muggle traffic except when school lets out. NO privacy then.
My first geocache hide is in woods I grew up romping around in with my friends. My retreat in times of trouble.
Woods is known as the Sawmill Tract. A remnant of what Brick Township looked like before sprawl. Pitch pines and cedar bogs that flow to Manasquan River. In the 1990's, the Sawmill Tract was slated for housing development, but a group of residents, including yours truly, yelled loud enough until the town purchased and preserved it as open space. The town covered the formerly sandy trails with smoother gravel bike paths and now it is a popular place for cyclists and dog-walkers.
