*gln: ARCHIVING CACHE

Greetings,

Looks like our timing is off, and It’s time to say goodbye to this cache.

Since I haven't seen any maintenance here in a while, I am going to assume that your priorities have changed, and you’ve gone in a different direction.

Archiving due to lack of maintenance is permanent.
CACHE ARCHIVAL IS PERMANENT.

Let me know if I can be of assistance in the future.

Thanks a MILLION for all you have done, Glenn

Geocache Description:

This cache was placed on my dad’s birthday (May 4) in his memory.
My dad loved camping at Hawn so the cache is
somewhat near the campground.
Dad loved the pines so there are plenty keeping watch over the cache.
He also loved Kids so the cache is loaded with small toys.
Thanks to Ed for permission to place the cache.

You won’t have to hike too far to reach the cache. The easiest path to the cache is to exit the parking lot from the back right corner then cross the small field to a shallow wet weather stream. Cross the stream. There, you can pick up an unmarked trail (to the right) that will take you up to the top of the bluff. If you prefer more of a challenge, exit the parking area and cut through the walk in campground. Hang a left at the creek and climb the bluff. (NOT the preferred route for small children) NOTE: YOU DO NOT HAVE TO CLIMB the BLUFF to access this cache!!) After you find the cache, take a little time to explore this quieter area of the park. In the spring, quite a lot of azaleas grow here.
Keep an eye on the kids near the bluffs.
Larger size clear lock-n-lock container hidden in a predictable spot.
Original contents: jacks, jump rope, two decks of cards, two die cast cars, two mini slinkys, two “magic washcloths”, one set snap beads, one “growing” bug, one Cachekinz LadyBug trackable, $10 gift card for FTF, log book and two pencils. CONGRATS!!! to thebess4 for your First FtF. Sorry it was such a challenge!
