A cache dedicated to one of my favorites bands - Yello...(Oh Yeah!!!) Strangely enough, this is a large cache...but it's not really big?!? The cache is most definately tied to the theme (check the 'back'...)
So I was in my local hardware store, saw something, and was inspired to do a cache dedicated to one of my favorites bands - Yello. Most may not know who Yello is, but if I said "Oh Yeah!", Ferris Bueller's Day Off, and Twix candy commercials, then you've heard their most famous song. Their logo is a yellow 'Y' (how appropriate!)
However, they've done more than just "Oh Yeah!" They started in 1979 and it's mostly been just two guys from Switzerland, Boris Blank (all the music) and Deiter Meier (lyrics and vocals.) They have 12 albums in total including their latest one from 2009, 'Touch Yello'. They were one of the pioneers of electronic music. Boris would sample all kinds of organic sounds and incorporate them into the music. Before digital loops, Boris had thousands of samples on tape! (Must have been hard to catalog...)
Stylistically, they are all over the map, but they have a couple of 'genres' per se. 1) Love Songs 2) Atmospheric/Instrumental 3) Dance - Fast 4) Dance - Quirky 5) Latin. My favorite albums are: Flag (1988), Stella (1985), Pocket Universe (1999), Touch Yello (2009). They have a greatest hits album which is a great way to hear alot of their early songs, Essential (1992.)
