FTF Honours goes to Boksombende
Friends of our family owned a farm nearby and told us that this is the highest rail crossing in the country at 2082m. It is also the highest point in the South African rail network and the highest rail siding (Nederhorst). There is a large white rock nearby (sometimes slightly obscured from the Dullstroom side by trees) which we were told that was the landmark for the highest crossing.
The road side cache is +/- 6km from Dullstroom on the Lydenburg side and is about fifty metres off the R540 road. We were lucky to see a train passing by when placing the cache and the driver acknowledged our wave with a toot-toot on his hooter.
Please indicate in your logs if a train was passing by when you found the cache and upload photos if possible.
Image displayed is for illustration purposes only. The cache is too small for trackables, please bring your own pen. Enjoy the hunt.
