Geocache Description:

This Cache is to mark the Re-Affirmation of the Twinning between Weston-super-Mare and its German Twin Town Hildesheim

 

On May  2nd 2013, a delegation from the German Twin Town Hildesheim travelled to Weston to celebrate the 30th  anniversary of signing the charter.

A lot of people from the towns travelled in both directions made friends in the past. There is a youth exchange running since 1977, several club, choirs and churches have partners abroad and meet regularly.

The cache is an easy to find 35mm film container located at "Hildesheim bridge".
I would be interested, if you know about that partnership or if you even joined any venues. Looking forward to your comments in the Logs.


"Whereas the ties and friendship between the people of Weston-super-Mare and the Town of Hildesheim were formal recognised in a Charter signed in Hildesheim on April 11th 1983 with the intention that the twinning would lead to greater exchanges and understanding between the people of the two communities.
 
Now therefore in celebrating the success of these arrangements over the past 30 years, Weston-super-Mare and Hildesheim, represented by their Mayor and representatives of their Twinning Associations by affixing their hands below, hereby reaffirm the commitment to preserving and developing the friendship so created for the benefit of all the people of their towns."
