Geocache Description:

This is another in our series of  Historic Greytown multi caches that will take you on a bit of a walk or cycle or even if you prefer a short drive. You will need to gather the required information from the Greytown Community Heritage Trust Boards along the way to obtain the co-ordinates for the final hidden cache. Dogs are allowed if on a leash.

We have given you the co-ordinates for an area to park but it can be anywhere near here. You will then have to find the boards in the northern part of the village to get the information you need to find the final.  The distance between the final and the furthest one away is about 720m, and you should be able to walk to all the boards and find the final in about 20mins, plus time for working out the final co-ords. All buildings are on Main St, but the final, an eclipse container in a camo bag, is just a short walk from Main St.

Greytown was named after Sir George Grey and was the first planned inland town in NZ. It was first settled in March 1854, became a borough in 1878 and a ward of the South Wairarapa District Council in 1989.  Greytown claims to have the most complete main street Victorian Architecture in the country. This cache will take you to a few more of these examples.

The final can be found at:
