As you may have guessed by our geocaching name, we are cat people. We have shared our home with cats all of our married lives. They have been such a constant source of entertainment and wonder that we can’t imagine not having a cat or two to wait upon. The 9 Lives series is dedicated to the nine cats we’ve had the pleasure of living with over the past 35+ years. The series consists of:
Patches, Princess, Tiki,
Snoops, Gizmo, Stripe,
Asbach, Kelsa; and Spot.
There is a bonus cache, Snuffleupagus, who lived with us for a short time while we were posted to Germany. You need to get a number from eight of the nine 9 Lives caches to find Snuffles (the bonus cache).
Asbach
The only male cat we’ve owned. A big, 22 lbs, ginger tabby we rescued from the pound. What a cuddly cat. Sometime around 9 every evening, he would want attention and insinuate himself onto CK’s lap no matter what else CK might be doing. When he was really happy he would nibble on your chin. He got his name from a German brandy and his habit of laying on the cool tiles of the bar.
- There are few things in life more heart warming than to be welcomed home by a cat.

- Cats can work out mathematically the exact place to sit that will cause the most inconvenience.
