Ahh beercan hill. Beercan hill began as a spot, due to its height and openness, the young folk could go there to get the best reception on their AM car radios back in the 50's. Whenever a gathering of youngsters happens other things are also bound to happen and the consumption of certain beverages was one of them. In the process many times the evidence was left behind. Beercan hill was popular through the late 60's then began to fade as radio reception improved and the increased popularity if 8-tracks stereos. By the time I was in high school beercan hill was still talked about but seldom used by the younger generation and from then on has continued to become just a memory.
However a graduate of Superior high recently started a community facebook page about Superior entitled, BeercanhillNebraska which was my inspiration for the cache. Thank you, Ron and may Beercan Hill live on forever.
