Packard and Marcellus shared many things! There was the Packard-Marcellus Telephone Company, as well as Packard-Marcellus Grange. This site is near where the building stood. It was inbetween both towns so that they could cooperatively share the building.
The line of bushes is perhaps where the rail bed for the Milwakee Railroad was. If you stand in the middle, and look east to Marcellus, you can see an almost clear shot to there. The roundhouse to turn the train around was located in Marcellus as it was the end of that spur.
I remember the train coming on Saturday nights through Packard, the line was torn out in the early 1980's before the Milwaukee Road failed.
The Marcellus Grange (Packard was dropped) moved into Ritzville until it disbanded in the 1980's. It still ran an agricultural store until that failed about 2007. It is now part of Connell Oil Company.
