The present church of the perpendicular period was built about 1460, the tower about 1360, but a church on this site is mentioned in the Domesday Survey of 1086. The EAST WINDOW was erected in memory of T V Webb MA JP who died in 1885: he and his wife were great benefactors to the village. The most recent window is by Glen Carter (1989) and commemorates the 405 RCAF PATHFINDER SQUADRON who were based at Gransden Lodge Airfield during WWII. Please take time tot visit the church if you can. A .pdf leaflet can be downloaded here itemising these details into a circular walk of the church. Circular Tour GT.pdf
The cache is slightly larger than a 35mm canister and is camoflaged. Please replace exactly as found. Bring your own pen/pencil to sign the log.
If anybody would like to expand to this series please do, I would just ask that you could let Sadexploration know first so he can keep track of the Church numbers and names to avoid duplication
