Driving eastbound on I-84 in Oregon?
Need some geocaching entertainment? This may be the solution!
There are four rest stops between
the Oregon cities of Pendleton and Ontario. You will need to make a brief stop at each one to
solve the puzzle. Included below are six photographs. Four of these
photos were taken at the four rest areas. The other two are not
needed and are only included to make guessing a bit harder! The photos are
in a random order.
At each rest stop, identify which
photo was taken there. Write the number next to the photo you identify in
the blank next to the rest stop name below. When you get all four numbers,
you are ready to build the coordinates and find the cache.
The four rest stops, from west to
east, are:
Deadman Pass Rest
Area: A = ___
Charles Reynolds
Rest Area: B = ___
Baker Valley Rest
Area: C = ___
Weatherby Rest
Area: D = ___
Note: The first stop, Deadman
Pass, is east of Pendleton after I-84 makes the big climb up the hill.
Note: The last stop, Weatherby,
is not well marked at the exit, so be sure to pay attention! There is a
"Rest Area Next Exit" sign in advance, but no mention of a rest area at the
actual exit.
Note: The cache is located for
easy retrieval after finding the last photo, so be sure to build the coordinates
before leaving the rest area.

The cache is a green-painted match tube with room for the log only and no travel
bugs.
Have fun and drive safely!
