Geocache Description:

Easy cache at the start of a bridle path, can be quite muddy after rain and can be collected as a stand alone drive-by. Our first cache so let us know if we have it right or not.

The Pennine Bridleway, a 205 mile adventure for walkers, horse riders & mountain bikers. Explore the hills & valleys of the Pennines following old packhorse routes, drovers roads & newly created bridleways This section runs along the route of a disused railway line. We have placed this cache here as we have horses close by and use the bridle path to get to Greenfield arena which is situated futher along the path. If you get your days right you could end up watching the equine events there, normally at a weekend. First to find and second to find tokens left with cache. Congrats to Salty-Cracker for first to find and for also finding the butty van over the road that we neglected to inform you of! For all you disused rail nerds out there, this is on the old Micklehurst loop line. In particular, at this point you're stood at the Royal George Tunnel. Hidden somewhere under the undergrowth and earth here is the tunnel portal. Thanks Limpfish for the info.
