Geocache Description:

The Ashby

Opened in 1965 by Sir Eric Ashby FRS, the Ashby building is 11 floors high and is the tallest building in the Queens University Campus standing at 46m (151ft). This places it 17th in the list of tallest buildings in Belfast and makes it an integral part of the Belfast Skyline.

The Ashby building is home to the School of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering as well as the Polymer Processing Research Centre.

photo Ashby.jpg This cache forms part of the Queens University Belfast series. Also in this series are:
Lanyon Building GC4BNXZ
David Keir Building GC4BNPN
Riddel Hall GC4BNYG
McClay Library GC4BQAT

While the university refers to its main site as a campus, the university's buildings are in fact spread over a number of public streets in South Belfast, centring around University Road, University Square and Stranmillis Road, with other departments located further afield.
