Geocache Description:

A magnetic nano located close to the McClay Library

The McClay Library opened in July 2009 and is the newest building on the Queens University Campus. The building has been named in honour of Sir Allen McClay, a major benefactor of Queen's University and of the Library. Sustainability was a critical factor in the design and construction of the library, in keeping with the University's environmental policy. The building meets the highest environmental standards.
The McClay Library brings together wide-ranging library, computing and media services in a single location, blending the best features of a traditional library with the latest technology.
Study facilities include both places for quiet study and significant provision for group work, allowing students to follow their own individual learning style.

Another feature is The C.S. Lewis Reading Room, situated in the tower area of Floor 1 of The McClay Library, which provides a pleasant, well-lit reading area featuring glass engraved quotations from the author. A replica of the wardrobe door used in the feature film, The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, marks the entrance to the room. The carpets and central table are also based on Narnia themes.

This cache forms part of the Queens University Belfast series. Also in this series are:
Lanyon Building  GC4BNXZ
David Keir Building  GC4BNPN
The Ashby  GC4BNYC
Riddel Hall  GC4BNYG

While the university refers to its main site as a campus, the university's buildings are in fact spread over a number of public streets in South Belfast, centring around University Road, University Square and Stranmillis Road, with other departments located further afield.
