Burnt Lake Trail Head
On a nice sunny day, Two Finders Keepers, PDXRollsRoyce, HAWKIT, and I decided to do a little geocaching up on NF-27. After we found some caches, we decided to see just how far the road would go--after all, we were in the Jeep! At the end of this road is the trail head to Burnt Lake. Though we didn't have time to follow the trail to get closer to East Zig Zag Lookout or Burnt Lake, we did take the opportunity to place a cache here. On our way back, we accepted the challenge of the road to get nice and muddy in the puddles along the way. Jeeps always look better with some mud on them! There are some deep ruts in the road, so it might be a road better suited for higher clearance vehicles. The trees around might make your GPSrs bounce a little.
