Keeping with my PUB series, here is another simple PUB cache for your numbers. What is a PUB? A Public Utility Box.
Many people have asked me for financial advice. While there are literally thousands and thousands of books on personal financial advice, there are only two pieces of advice that are the foundation of all financial advice: SAVE and STAY OUT OF DEBT! While these are two very good practices to do, there are caveats. As for debt, I claim there is "smart debt" and "stupid debt." I have heard it said to "Never go into debt on a non appreciating asset," but I like to add that if you can get a return HIGHER than your debt interest, it is "smart debt." If you can borrow at 3% and get a return of 6%, that is smart debt. Other "smart debt" includes zero percent financing as you are going to pay it back with depreciated dollars. But always read the FINE PRINT as a lot of the zero percent programs have a deadline and if you don't meet the deadline, they tack on interest from the day of your purchase.
Debt is like fire or water, it can be GOOD or it can be BAD. Fire heats your home and cooks your food OR it can burn your house down. Water is great for showering and drinking or it can flood your home.
Once you find this cache, you will see where I got the name. There are two different businesses nearby, one that gives "smart debt" and one that gives "stupid debt." I have included some loose change for the FTF!
