Croeso i Gymru!
That’s "Welcome to Wales" in Welsh. The cache is placed beside a minor road that runs from Westbury in Shropshire to Buttington near Welshpool in Wales. At this point the road crosses Rowley Brook, a small stream that marks the border between England and Wales.
There is room to pull off the road on the south (English) side of the bridge; the cache itself is on the Welsh side.
At the time of placing, the cache contains:
-
A log book and pencils in a re-sealable plastic bag,
-
A large red Welsh Dragon toy as a present for the FTF.
-
Five Welsh souvenir "nick-nacks". Please remember that these are swaps, not gifts. If you take anything, please replace it with something of equal or greater value, in accordance with Geocaching rules.
This is the first cache I've hidden, and the first of what I hope will be a series of caches placed on the Welsh border. I hope you like it! I'll be placing some more soon.
I’ve graded the terrain as 2, as the road is very narrow in places, so drivers should be prepared to have to reverse on steep hills if you meet something coming the other way, though on my recce trips to this site I've found the road to be very quiet. Cyclists and walkers won't have problems with passing, but there will be some up and down involved.
