This is a park and grab, if you can find it! To locate this cache, just use the coordinates, and put on your thinking cap. About the Woodman Fen:
The Woodman Fen is one of the newest park additions to the Five Rivers Metro Parks. We visit this park often, walking the boardwalk and watching the wildlife. In the summer, the growth is so tall, you can barely see the ducks from the bench area. There is another bench area viewing a frog habitat, really cool.
Thanks to an extensive restoration by Five Rivers MetroParks, an ancient wetland that dates to the last Ice Age 13,000 years ago, is now officially open to the public. The Woodman Fen has a 1,000-foot boardwalk that snakes around the wetland and keeps your feet dry; the longest in the MetroParks system. Below, the soggy earth is a rich coal-black peat, and the soil is flaked with white calcium carbonate from water evaporation. The ground is so saturated that it bounces when you walk. There’s nothing else like it in Montgomery County. The fen’s nearest geological cousin is the Beavercreek Wetlands in Greene County.
