A gathering of geocachers to munch lunch and talk about the walkabout, roughly 11:30am - 12:30pm. Event is near a two track and the hiking trail, at about the 4 mile point of the Florida trail through hike (about half way). Access by hike, bike or horse. Shortest walking route is from River road, using a mix of trails, about 2.5 miles.
Water will be staged at the event site, maybe even in a cooler, with actual ice. If you want to eat, bring yer own food!
Yes, there will be brownies. ;-)
Those who want to join a car traverse should be at the parking area at River Road at 8:30 - 9 am. We'll load as many people as possible in as few cars as possible, and drive around to 471 parking to start the hike, ~ 9:30am.
I'm guesstimating a 2 mile an hour walking pace - slow, but this gives people time to fool around along the trail, see the sights, take some pics, try to go around the water (pointless), sign some logs, get sidetracked.
No hunting this weekend.
