Beware High Muggle Area, stealth required!!
This fountain is the main focal point in Alford, and was built in 1891 using a ponderous pink and grey granite, by the tenantry feuars and friends of Robert Francis Ogilvy Farquharson Esquire of Haughton, who died on the 3rd of May 1890.
It was erected as a token of the esteem and affection in which Mr Farquharson was held for the active and generous interest he took for many years in promoting the prosperity of this native vale.
