Geocache Description:

Brookings is the first Oregon town you pass through northbound. Southbound, the last, on the very scenic 101 Coastal Highway. Brookings takes pride in our hospitality to visitors from all over the world. Situated in the so called Banana Belt, we enjoy mild winters, and cool summers. On a beautiful sunny day you may see whales surfacing just off shore, or a fleet of sailboats just outside the mouth of our  famous Chetco River.

Popular local events include the parade and Azalea Festival on Memorial Day, 4th of July Fireworks in the harbor, and the Kite Festival a couple of weeks later. Free summer concerts in the park and the Slammin' Salmon Derby on Labor Day weekend. And let's not forget the Pirate Festival in August, and the Natures Coastal Holiday light extravaganza during the month of December.

This is my biggest family-friendly cache. Currently, it's also the only large one within 10 miles. Pretty easy find.....it's loaded with plenty of goodies.  Kindly make note in on-site and on-line logs as to where you come from.

A few rules to kindly observe during your visit.
1. If you take a bug...leave a bug.

2.If you take 2 bugs...leave 2 bugs.

3. If you take 3 bugs...get the picture?

4. It's ok to leave a bug for a visit, and not take another along.

5. It's not ok to take a bug without leaving one.

6. Be courteous...login/logout bugs in their online log-page. The owners really like it when you do.

7. Be courteous again.....try not to keep the critters in your care caged for longer than a week or two..

8. Don't even think about plundering a bug. It's not cool man!!

9. Anybody suspected of plundering will be tracked down by the K9 unit of the Brookings police department. The scallywag will be handcuffed, fined, placed in solitary confinement with bread and water, and branded a Scurvy Bilge-rat. (Bread & Water is not a rock band). On the full moon of every month, at the stroke of midnight, punishments will commence. All bilge-rats will be flogged followed by walking the plank and immediate keel hauling. So, just say no...it's not worth it.

10. Enjoy your visit....keep calm, and keep on caching!!

Thanks a bunch. BrookingsBeachBums.
