A favourite walk of ours along the riverside path through the woods from Morpeth to Bothal, with other caches to be found along the way.
Parking is available where the A197 leaves Morpeth. A short walk along the road past East Mill will bring you to the entrance to the woods and the start of the path.
The beginning of the path runs quite close to the edge in parts, sometimes with a drop down to the river, so some care is needed with geokids.
Due to tree cover and location, GPS reception is not always very reliable, but the description and hint should help. Just follow your cacher’s nose.
Where two paths meet, a wooden bench can be found with a view over the river. A pleasant spot to sit, watch and ponder.
NB. Difficulty rating increased as the Cache has blended in rather well with its surroundings over time and has become more difficult to spot. The Cache container is not very big so please be careful not to throw it away while searching.
