Geocache Description:

Another cache in the "Where da water from" Series.

This one highlights head presssure, which in turn means you get a great view from some of these water storages.

Head pressure or gravity feed is the main way in which water is distributed across Melbourne.  There are also other ways like pumping.

Head pressure is the term that is used to describe the catchments and reserviours up high.  In this case the Yarra Ranges.  From here the water flows down hill to storages like this one.  The amount of water in the head of the catchment provides a pressure to get it up small hills to places like this where the process starts all over again, but on a smaller scale..  You dont want the head pressure too high through the suburbs because pipes into houses can only handle so much.

This all means that some of these storages have really amazing views.  This is one of the best, especially from the top of the hill.
